Jhat, I'd look for some more modern turn based games. That way, even if your friend is at a disadvantage as far as nimble fingers go, he can take his time and practice long term strategy.
Quite a few Japanese role playing games are like that, Civilization is like that, Dungeons of Dredmor,
Or something a bit more classical ( and IMO more impressive) introduce them to Go or chess. Chess ability never fully leaves you, its been around forever, tons of people play, very little physical ability required, and you never run out of new games to study or unexpected surprises from your opponents.
