Hey-
My brother is 27 and recently paralyzed at C4/C5 and has NO use of his arms or legs. He uses a sip 'n puff chair. He was an avid outdoorsman before his accident - rafting, climbing, backcountry skiing, sailing, hiking, etc. . . Is there ANYTHING he can get involved in to get him outdoors and participating in life? He still has a trache in, but only for breathing treatments. . . hopefully out soon! Thank you!
Any Sports For Quad Without Any Use Of Arms Or Legs?

I don't know how common this is or isn't but it maybe worth researching, this is an article about a british quadriplegic lady http://www.disableda...-new-challenge/ I think it's a good example of what could be achieved.
Life Rolls On is a charity helping to get people with disabilities surfing, it's founded by a quadriplegic surfer and they run events all around America http://www.liferolls...LLKTNJE&b=79268
Archery can be done using sip and puff devices
Other than that the only sport I am aware of is powerchair football (soccer)

Access dinghys http://www.accessdinghy.org/ can be sailed with sip puff controls
adaptive skiing, either in ski karts or bi-skis can be done by quads
Archery - with a bit of home modification (cross bows are easier than long bows)

Since he was fond outdoors stuff, I thought he might be interesting in either target shooting or maybe even hunting, if he's into that. I'm a c4/5 with one arm use and head and shoulder movement and I recently decided to go hunting again. There are a couple places on the net that sell wheelchair gunmounts but they are fairly pricey. Too expensive for me so I've designed my own. The ones you can buy can be used by full quads with little or no neck movement, whereas mine is made so I can aimed with my mouth. Check out www.beadaptive.com and http://www.sr77.com/ also, here is a video of a guy shooting the sr77 mount: http://www.youtube.c...r/TheJeffreylee
