We have a 2 berth wheelchair adapted caravan that I want to upgrade for a four berth. It's so frustrating-there are some drop dead gorgeous second hand ones but getting into them is a nightmare.

Instead of looking into widening the standard 19inch door etc etc (expensive and major job) we wondered if it would be possible to get a very small non self propelling wheelchair. This would have to be no more than 18ins -and would like it to be comfortable enough to sit in.

Just wondered if anyone has tried this route and if such a beast exists.

We love our caravan and would recommend it to anyone-but it is such a nightmare trying to find an adapted van. We have been very lucky the one we have.

I am not sure if this would help, it folds down also:

Or if you needed to move around on grass/outside this may be something to consider:

The second one doesn't list a width and isn't able to be folded down like the first either.

I'm pretty sure u can buy evacuation chairs- they aren't self propelling, but they are very narrow. We looked at getting one for the horsebox

That's what I was looking for-many thanks -all the evacuation chairs looked mega uncomfortable with no or little footrests and possibly needed two people to give it some stability.

would love to hear how other disabled caravanners manage-but maybe there aren't that many of us unless you can afford to spend mega bucks on an all singing all dancing!

Hi, I am not sure but I am sure if you look up "aisle chairs" somewhere, you will find something that helps. Sorry for the late reply. I don't come here much these days.
