Hi i just been reading a wikipedia article about the famous singer Julio iglesias, my mum loved his songs years ago and he was massively famous worldwide but i never knew he had paraparexis? not paraplegia but it says its to do with a bruised spinal cord when he had a car crash which resulted in weakened lower limbs and a time in a w/chair he still suffers but what i wanted to ask was is paraparexia -paraparesia? i googled the word and only found spanish sites [unless it is just a spanish word?] but paraparesia is spanish also and i am just curious to know the difference if any

I clicked on the wiki ink after googling paraparesia and then had google translate the wiki page...It is paralysis; a general info page.
http://translate.goo...l=en&prmd=ivnsb
There are a few other links as well, the dozen I looked at all refereed to paralysis and or the effects of; loss of movement or weakness in extremities, bowel/bladder function, etc. Many of the references were surgery related, ie. paralysis caused by various surgical procedures; back, neck, disc, brain...
I found this site that provides a quote from the man, describing the accident he had and his possible paralysis...he had compression of the spinal cord; seems it took 3 yrs to rehab back to some normalcy...

Here you go. "paraparesis /para·pa·re·sis/ (-pah-re´sis) partial paralysis of the lower limbs."
