How to diagnose what hurts?

I am c5 complete 18 years past... for many months i feel cold on only one side of my face, and little sweaty.

Its very uncomfortable feeling. I know that this is the reaction to pain but I cant find out what hurts.

Does anybody have some problem and how to resolved? how to diagnose what hurts?

Thank you

That's AD for sure, is there someone that can check your skin good? You may have a sore you can't see. Is there anything you have changed lately? Any new meds? Are your bowels moving like they normally do? What about your bladder? Is it flowing good? Be sure to watch your blood pressure, if it stays really high you may need some nitro to bring it down, you don't need to have a stroke.

Hope you get this figured out soon!

If you've already checked what the above said:

Could you be in a more ergonomic position?

Clothing can roll up or get creases....could this have any effect on you? I know it does for me.....I have to be VERY careful about what kinds of pants/socks/shoes I wear because if I'm not than the clothes/shoes themselves can cause pain for me.

UTI's can cause sweating & AD....although I don't think it would come & go.

If you've got an electric wheelchair if it reclines you might try that or just laying down for a bit.....I'm wondering if it's possible that your spine may need a break so to speak. I have to go lay down from time to time or else the pain in my back gets worse the more I fight it.

*Wheelchairs are made of a special ocular magnetic alloy......they're "eyeball magnets".*
*I USE a wheelchair, that does NOT make ME a wheelchair!*

It seems the basics have been covered. Check your toenails. Sometimes an inmgrowing toenail will cause those problems.

Also check your cushion...it may need replacing.

You failed to say if this happens all the time,in your chair or in your bed. Knowing this may help pin point the problem alittle easier.

Thank you.

I check my skin very good and there is no skin sore or even redness.
I dot use any new medication. I have regular BP and no urine infection. My blood pressure doesn’t raise its and is usually low 110/65.
I didn’t change my wheelchair or bad mattress. I always take care of my clothing especially shoes etc.. toenails..

My right side of the face is cold. It’s same in the wheelchair and in the bad. It doesn’t really sweat only for example when I urinate it gets little more sweater then my left side and forehead.(that sweat across the face is normal for me when I urinate).

I am guessing that something must hurt on my left side of the body. (its usually works like that, if hurts on lefts side of body the right side sweat and opposite). It’s not AD. There is no elevated blood-pressure or headache.

I have two ideas.

1. For the last month I have a really bad pain. I am having a lot of pain in my right leg. It speeds from my but down to my foot. Like electricity socks. I talk to doctor and did some research it looks like sciatica. I still didn’t resolve this problem. Hopefully next week I will have MRI done so we will see what to do next. ( if you have idea please suggest)!!!!!

2. Many years ago I had surgery on my left hip. I had calcification. ( but when they move my leg I don’t feel discomfort or pain) I have physiotherapy five times a week.

..Hmm its left hip so ..left hip hurts right side of the face is cold hmm long shot??

That’s all what I can think off.:(

I bean in wheelchair for many years and I know a lot about my condition. But this cold one side of the face I just can’t figurout.

Thank you for your help;)

Lurker, do you have blurred vision in the eye on that side of your face, and does the eyelid droop at all?

Hi
just little update. I did a X-Ray on my lover spine. The X-rad didn’t show the cause of the pain. Now I am waiting for MRI. My pain is still located in my right leg. We are still guessing that pain come from sciatica. It goes from my butt to my leg and toes. like electricity with pain. When I go to bad It get little better or even in some position in wheelchair. Also I noticed that pain sometimes move (knee, butt, toes, whole leg).
I still cant determine if this is nerve pain or pain from sciatica.
thank you

p.s. I am 18 years post c5 complete an I never had pain before, it started more then one month ago after a bad car ride!

Any suggestion are welcome!
