I never thought I would prefer winter over summer. The heat is killing me. Ican't do anything outside without getting over heated. When that does happen it takes hours to get back to normal. Even now I'm inside with the air on and I still have a fan on in every room. I've had this in the past summers but this summer it's gotten worse. I miss working in my yard or just wheeling around downtown. I'm wondering why it's getting worse, maybe age? I have noticed and hate that I'm not as strong as I used to be. I guess being 51 and a quad for 18 years is catching up to me, and I don't like it.

My mother in law has MS and she cant get over heated or it causes major problems. So when she goes out she uses a wrap that has jell beads that you freeze and wraps it around her neck. They also make hats and vest. I dont know if this will help or not. I hope you can get out and about soon!

Spray bottle is my best buddy this time of year, there are also vests that have pockets for ice packs. You could also move to oregon where it's been raining for the last week :)

I've got completely the opposite problem.....I'm constantly COLD! :cold:

What about having some water that is a frozen block & sip it as it melts? It'd be the coldest water you can get without crunching/chewing on ice-cubes all day(probably NOT recommended by dentists)?

Also I have a back-brace (no not a MEDICAL one....more of the weekend warrior type) that has a reusable gel insert that I can make hot OR cold. Obviously I haven't tried it out with cold but my B/F HAS & he said it was darn right nippy especially right out of the freezer.

*I USE a wheelchair, that does NOT make ME a wheelchair!*
