2nd Degree Burns From Kindle Charger On Lap

Well I was reading on the kindle app on my computer today for about an hour when it became time for me to get up and cath.

So when I went to put the laptop up I saw that the charger box was between my thighs. Well I didnt think anything about and just went about getting up to cath.

Well as it turns out I have 2nd degree burns with blisters on my thighs from the charger box. Now I am waiting for Jake to come home with some burn meds.

Well just wanted to post and let everyone know how :censored: dangerous those chargers can be. Girr Well I hope everyone else is having a better day than me!

What's important is not what happens to us, but how we react to what happens to us..

God gave us two ends, one to think with, n one to sit on.. Success depends on which one u use.. Heads u win, tails u lose..

The innocent things we do to injure ourselves are harder to take than than the ones that happen when we know we shouldn't be doing them. Just jot that down in the ram memory of your brain, take care that it heals quickly, and go on enjoying life. I did that some years ago on the lavatory drain pipe while in the hospital. Notice how they are padded now. Hope it's not too bad. Best wishes....

My wife is forever warning me about the charger.

Guess I owe her an apology - again..

Damn.
Out of the gloom a voice said unto me, "Smile and be happy, things could be worse." So I smiled and was happy and behold things did get worse.

Everyone does something like that once. I put a mug of hot water between my legs and got 2nd degree burns. Felt like an idiot, too. But,oh well, learned my lesson.

I did it on bringing some pizza home. It didn't seem like it could do THAT much damage. But after we ate dinner I went to use the restroom & the tops of my thighs were bubbling. Got yelled at by my B/F then my mom, then the E.R. then MY Dr.!

It happens to us all at least once.

Hope you heal quickly.

I had a good para friend. He was shaving and smelled something burning. It was his knees blistering as he was touching the drain. You are certainly no alone.

No fun at all. I blistered my arm with a cup of coffee in bed. I'd always used SS insulated mugs in bed. But one day I used a regular cup and rested it against my arm. Not good.

Hospital hot water is HOT and can heat the drain tube enough to burn you if it runs long enough. I've noticed that most are insulated now probably by regulation because of that. I've also had HOT water from a dripping bath tub faucet burn my toes and feet. Took me several times to figure out what was happening. Had the faucet fixed and no more burns...........

well the blisters have popped and now they are sores. I have been putting aloe and bandages on them so they look good. Just wondering how long it took everyones healed. If I have any injures below my level it always seems they heal slower and leave scars. Hate it.

Used a Dell laptop on my lap as it charged for a few hours. When I'd finished I noticed a damp patch on my jeans.
Turns out that as the battery was on charge it got really hot and left a huge burn on my leg.
Still got the scar now some 4 years later.

Thanks Simon for the name change! Im not good at posting yet. :girl_devil: but I do have to clarify that its the computer charger that burned me. A kindle charger doesnt get hot. At least I dont think. Hmmm.... You have giving me something to ponder on. :coffee:
