hello,

I'm doing some independent research and development on accessing the home computer using head movements and face gestures,
without the need for external hardware, except for a simple webcam.

A first basic example is shown here
but in the meantime I made progress by enabling the user to control not only the virtual keyboard but also
the mouse, and switch between these two, which basically means that you can open any program to read content
and/or type text into it, such as e-mail, participating in social media and whatnot. All this by
using face gestures like raising the eyebrows and dropping the jaw,
and by moving the head from left to right, and rotate it.

I'm not very familiar with levels and types of SCI, but I was hoping for some feedback, such as:
-do people use tools like this already, and which ones? (I know dasher)
-would there be a need for an app as described above?
-would you have any other wishes for an such an app?
-are there levels of sci in which people cannot use their hands but still can move their head like I do in the video?
-do you know researchers in this area who I could contact?

I really appreciate all input,
and I will post a link again when I have uploaded a new video, showing the progress i'm making,

Jeff.
