A friends daughter has just had 2 MRI's and been told she has this....waiting to see neuro doc. Looked to see if anything familiar is on here and could not find anything. My friend has googled it and as you know the "internet can be scary.....information overload. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Norma

I have an 8mm (small apparently) one at the point of injury. As long as it does not grow bigger then it is not a problem. It will need to be monitored and if it does start to grow, will but pressure on the spinal cord and will need to be drained.
Hopefully hers will not grow either.

Out of the gloom a voice said unto me, "Smile and be happy, things could be worse." So I smiled and was happy and behold things did get worse.

I have one starting at the level of my injury and going all the way up the cord. It's been there for at least 10 years and every year I get an MRI and see my Neurologist. Luckily it's been stable and there has been no need for a shunt.

I admit it really worries me. If it starts growing I could be in a pretty bad spot. But there's nothing I can do except keep an eye on it and hope it doesn't change.
