Welcome to the forum Dub.. ;-)

Great introduction thread, but sadly I haven't found my passion yet.. Unless perhaps playing on my BlackBerry counts.. :dunno:

Hi and welcome-- nice idea for a thread. Gardening has always been a passion, unfortunately I have had to adjust to what I can do. I also love to make/fix things, like woodworking, and again I am adjusting to what I can and can't do. And finally, I love to read, especially historical novels or papers. I'd send a video of me reading, but I think it would be pretty boring. Oh, and my first grandchild is due in January, and I think that will probably be a passion too.

Is this thread like kismet or what???

My new passion is writing and I aspire to write mysteries with intertwining stories, weaving a spiderweb of red herrings and clues toward a surprise ending.

My old passion is art and I soon get to let that re-emerge. The possibilities are endless at the moment, I shall have to re-focus that as well:)

Also 3D animation. Here's one I made combining both passions

Surgery In 5 Easy Steps

By Dr. Chris Repp

"We wrote the book"

Step 1: Preparation

First you should locate the patient. Are they sitting calmly waiting for you? If so something is wrong. I mean, you have absolutely no idea how to pronounce the organ you are about to remove, never mind have the slightest idea what it does. At this time, I would like to state that any death, injury, or extra limbs that result in listening to this book are your responsibility. You should have learned a long time ago that anything that includes 5 'easy' steps wouldn’t work.

All right, so you've tied the patent down, good. Next you need to wash your hands. After all, you don't know where they've been. Next, put on your surgical gloves. If you don't have any, the gloves that came free with your toilet brush will do. Make sure the patient is properly gagged. All right, you’re ready for step 2.

Step 2: The First Cut

DO NOT just go cutting into people! (You should have read this before. If not, skip to step 4). First you should locate the general area where the organ you want is. If you don't know, just take a guess. You'd be surprised what you'll find. Slice into the place you picked. If you don't have a surgical knife, just use the plastic one from KFC. Did you find what you're looking for? If not, try again. You should probably practice on a manikin before you go cutting up people, but who has time?

Step 3: Panic

Oh oh! I don't think you were supposed to remove that. Put it back! Put it back! Oh crap! Now your knee deep in your patient. This would be a good time for step 4. But first you have to put your patient back together. Just ram him through your sewing machine or duct tape him back together.

Step 4: Destroying The Evidence

Now you really did it, didn't you? Tie the ball of blood and duct tape up in a sac and throw him off the nearest bridge. That's it. Don't worry about contacting their family. If they let you operate on them, they were either incredibly stupid, or suicidal. Either way, nobody loves them, just like you.

Step 5: Hide

That's right, go into hiding until the law is passed that allows a complete moron to try to perform surgery on an even bigger moron. And the way things are going; you'll be there awhile. I hear Mexico's nice this time of year.

Surgical Test

Ha! Didn't know you'd have to take a test, did you! Don't worry, it's just to see if you were paying any attention.

1. What's the first thing you should do before attempting surgery?
(A) Find the patient.
(B) Find your pants.
© Be sure everything is clean.
(D) Ask for immediate payment

2. What could be used to replace a scalpel?
(A) A plastic knife.
(B) A bottle of Gin.
© Your fingernail.
(D) Anything, as long as it cuts.

3. What is the best way to close your patient up after surgery?
(A) Using clean, neat stitches.
(B) Don't. Let him lie there.
© Duct tape.
(D) Huh huh! What? Huh huh!

4. What is your patient?
(A) Stupid.
(B) Suicidal.
© Your Uncle Al.
(D) All of the above.

5. Where is the best place to hide?
(A) Mexico.
(B) Your basement.
© Don't bother. If they want you, they'll find you.
(D) The 7-11.

Answers
Here are the answers to the surgical quiz.

1. What's the first thing you should do before attempting surgery?
The answer is (D) Ask for immediate payment. Cuz after you operate on them, you'll never see the money.

2. What could be used to replace a scalpel?
(D) Anything, as long as it cuts. Please note: This may include a rusty nail, plastic bag (a sharp one) or an actual scalpel.

3. What is the best way to close your patient up after surgary?
© Duct tape. Ha ha, got you.

4. What is your patient?
(D) All of the above. Poor, pathetic Uncle Al.

5. Where is the best place to hide?
(D) The 7-11. There's an unlimited supply of Slurpies and enough food to last a while.

Well, that concludes this section. I hope you all learned something, cuz I sure didn't. Until next time, That's just wrong!

I garden a little.
I don't read at all (except Apparelyzed of course)(bothers me a little - maybe someone could suggest a self-help book on it).

My passion for now (and doesn't seem to be ebbing) is training my dog to pull me in my wheelchair. My dog loves it. It gets us up early (hot here in the California valley). I search out places we can go. We try different levels of difficulty.

Here is a picture of us. This is on my street by my home - we actually go much nicer spots to "sulky" - I just don't have pics.

Just Another Day - Oingo Boingo

(There's life underground)

I feel it all around / I feel it in my bones
My life is on the line / When I'm away from home
When I step out the door / The jungle is alive
I do not trust my ears / I don't believe my eyes
I will not fall in love / I cannot risk the bet
Cause hearts are fragile toys / so easy to forget

It's just another day / There's murder in the air
It drags me when I walk / I smell it everywhere
It's just another day / Where people cling to light
To drive away the fear / That comes with every night

CHORUS
It's just another . . . . . . . It's just another day
It's just another . . . . . . . It's just another day . . .

It's just another day--When people wake from dreams
With voices in their ears--That will not go away

I had a dream last night / The world was set on fire
And everywhere I ran / There wasn't any water
The temperature increased / The sky was crimson red
The clouds turned into smoke / And everyone was dead
(but) There's a smile on my face . . . For everyone
There's a golden coin . . . That reflects the sun
There's a lonely place . . . That's always cold
There's a place in the stars . . . For when you get old

There's razors in my bed / That come out late at night
They always disappear / Before the morning light
I'm dreaming again / Of life underground
It doesn't ever move / It doesn't make a sound
And just when I think--That things are in their place
The heavens are secure--The whole thing explodes in my face

CHORUS

Please leave my heart

Not really in any particular order:

Scrap-booking (+ photography kinda goes hand n hand with it), Sims 2,I'm "a CAR GIRL"...love the smell of high octaine fuel & to feel the roar of an engine even from a few feet away.... LOVE CARS especially the older styles.....they had so much character & ran for YEARS before needing any major repairs, been going from racing to off-road-ing (we're 100% against street racing but the 1/4 mile tracks in San Diego area are all being closed & 1/8 sucks if your car has some BIG you know whats under the hood), politics, environmental issues, music, and some other stuff....but I don't want to bore anyone. :icecream:
