I am paralyzed from the chest down, and I am forever having ghost pains in my legs and feet. At times it feels like someone is just twisting the bottom part of my leg where my kneecap is going to just break or that someone is running over my foot with an 18 wheeler truck. And also at times it feels like my butt falls asleep and that there is to much pressure on it even though I do weight shifts more than often. My accident was two years ago and yet the ghost pains havent faded at all, they actually have gotten a little stronger. Do they ever begin to fade or are they here to stay?

Just get used to them. Chances are high that they'll be a new 'normal' part of life.

Um...I wish I could tell you from experience that it gets better...but it hasn't...it's only gotten worse.

Agreed,,,, it's very doubtful that they will become less irritating,, tho your tolerance for them may increase. Gabapentin and Lyrica seem to help many,,, to some extent. For me,, it's the Gabapentin,,,,, doesn't make me pain free,, but it helps a lot.
