Schwalbe Marathon Plus Evo, practically puncture proof, last for ages and black!
They do cost more but as they last for about a million years then it all works out even in the end

I have kik mako tyres on my second pair of wheels, I used them a lot initially (when they were my first wheels!) but I can honestly say I would never go back to them full time, they are very uncomfortable to roll on (in my opinion) compared to pneumatic tyres, very unforgiving. They are now strictly for holidays abroad where, on the very slim off chance, I got a puncture it would be very difficult to sort (the last time I used them was on a trip to West Africa!)
Maybe pick up a cheap second pair of wheels and have solids on one for those trips to the wilderness etc and a pair of marathon plus or something similar for everyday rolling

*Wheelchairs are made of a special ocular magnetic alloy......they're "eyeball magnets".*
*I USE a wheelchair, that does NOT make ME a wheelchair!*

I second this! I have been using solid tyres for the last 6years and just recently got Marathon plus tyres, and I tell you what...Best money I ever spent!
