Hi, I just found this forum and I'm hoping for a little help.
I've been a quadriplegic for almost 10 years without too many "major" problems (knock on wood). I recently have noticed that my body temp has been pretty low, ranging from 91-95 degrees. I did get checked by a doctor who thought it could've been from a urinary infection, which has since cleared.
Other than the low temp, my blood pressure is low (around 98/50) which it's been low for years. I'm just curious to know if anyone else has experienced anything like this and/or if it's something to worry about.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Larry

Hi JR,
As you are a Quad, you will of lost the ability to generate heat to compensate for your environmental temperature. As a result, your body will become the same temperature as your environment.
If I was you, and I'm a C5/6 (RTA 1992), I'd keep an eye on the thermostat, and if you get cold as I do, get a microwavable wheat bag to put around the back of your neck to keep warm. Also, don't forget to layer your clothes.
I doubt a UTI is to blame, as this would raise your temperature, not lower it.
You may also find in warm weather that you overheat easily, and this can be compensated by placing a cold wet towel on the back of the neck.
I hope this helps.
