I have SCI but as of the moment I'm not paralyzed ( but I hope I will not be by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, but If not I will just have to accept it and thank the Lord for letting me experience the walk and the experience in using my hands in this earth).
My name is lloyd I'm 32 years of age. and the Symptoms I experience is quite neurological.
I had a severe left neck pain like a pinched nerve last year. also lead me to think deep that resulted in a panic attack.
I went to a neurologist because I was suspecting an cerebral aneurysm. I had an mra-plain done and it found out negative.
I also told her I have neck pain when I tilt my head and told her that I have c3-c4-c5-c6 problem in my x-ray done before. and advised me to see an orthopedic. which I did not do for a while since I was busy at that time.
Last month I was able to see an orthopedic at last and told me to have a Cervical Spine MRI. I told the docotor that there Is a slight pain in my right arm radiating it to my index finger rating the pain from 1 to 10 I give it a 4. and sometimes I have a cold feeling in the back of my right shoulder, sometimes like a pressing heat, and also I have numb feeling in my mid back. when I got the result I thought its just going to be an orthopedic problem. but there was something else. like in the saying in Forrest Gump. life is like a box of chocolate you'll never know what your going to get.
Here is the Transcript of the MRI:
The Findings is:
Cervical Lordosis is maintained. No evident of compression deformity
Intervertebral disks are of normal height w/ homogenous signals throughout.
Mild diffuse disk bulges at levels C3-C4 down to C5-C7 w/o evidence of neural foraminal narrowing or spinal canal stenosis.
There is a low elongated T1 signal throughout the lower cervical cord C5-C7 following signal of CSF.
Normal appearance of anterior and posterior bony elements, including facet, uncovertebral and atlantoaxial joints.
Atlantodental space is normal. articulating vertebral end plates present smooth margins.
Pre- and paraspinal soft tissues are unremarkable. there are no focal extra or intradural lesions.
IMPRESSION:
-Mild diffuse disk bulges C3-C4 down to C5-C6
-Cervical Syrinx C5-C7 <-- This is the something else.
I was ready for rehab for my disk bulges. but when I saw that I have a syrinx. I'm little bit uneasy now. because It might make the syrinx expand or get worse as it is traveling in the spine. I guess I'll be doing hot packs around my back instead. and I hope the syrinx will shrink too.
