Hi Folks

Been away for a couple of weeks for an op on my arm and have just returned. Not too easy typing with one hand. Reckon since this, I now have more sympathy with my quad pals.

Sorry for the quietness of late, however, nothing has ben posted which really lights my fire. After all the toing and froing with my nephew, I am now finding that I want to talk about other things rather than SCI. Even the weather, or football, anything other than bowels/bladders, etc.

Sorry if I am going on but once I find something that hits me I will post. Having made around 200 odd posts on Moose's site and who knows how many on this one, I just feel I want to be doing other things than telling people how long I have been ill, what movement I have etc.

So, if I stay quiet, I am sorry. One day, when something stirs me I will return. I pop in/out and read the topics so I wont be too far away.

Regards to all.

Gary

Hey Gary!

Good to see you back again. I had wondered where you were.

I hope your arm is healing well and recovery is quick.

I know what you mean about talking about our injuries all the time. I don't feel that way here, but in my 'real' life.....it does get wearisome. I've even thought about printing out a paper that I could hand out when asked about stuff, but that might seem rude.

Now that we have the 'Cafe', any topic goes (well, most topics anyway  )

Nice one Gary - how long are you expecting recuperation to be and are you going to be able to get back to work? Good to have you back.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Dom - the op was to free up a badly broken arm which I sustained in the car accident on New Year's Day which crippled/killed my nephew. As a result, I was left with an arm which I could hardly use which meant transferring from surface to wheelchair was very difficult. So, I had to move back in with my parents.

Russ - Things are going pretty well. At present I am in plaster and will be for 4-6 weeks (not very good in this weather!!). As for getting back to work, hopefully, once the plaster is off I will be able to get back into the swing. At the moment, I am going in a couple of days but only so that I can deal with paperwork.

I am hoping (and praying) that after all this more movement returns. If not - then I am up the proverbial creek without the proverbial paddle.
