I was diagnosed with Syringomyelia without chari.

If a tumor is a solid nodule that can be be resolved by radiating it with cobalt. (It is used to shrink brain tumors, trigeminal neuralgia, cancer cells.)

Can it also be done with a Cyst that is just filled with watery substance?, our goal here is to destroy the sac, which will disperse the cyst.

And it is less invasive compared to traditional surgery. Mine says I don't have a solid nodule just a cyst.

Can somebody please help. Thank You

hi lloyd

i dont know any answers i'm sorry, thing is with rare stuff....theres not much info out there, plus as i repeatingly find...because so many sci are discharged and not seen again..then how can operations etc really be known if they produce benefits in the long term...thatss why i come here..so many 'rare' stuff i got going on..others do too and i ask them how they deal with this stuff.

There are rare disease societys you can contact, they will snd you any genuine links they feel may help you with regards to genuine medical help on-line, forums are great yet stuff like what you speak off, but all people on here can do is give ya their advice on their experiences and what their surgeons have told them.

Please do keep us updated

If this is the answer cobalt radiation this could be a medical breakthrough. This might be the answer. for eliminating the syrinx as early as possible. Cobalt was used here in a patient had brain tumor. He had his minimally invasive surgery done in the morning and went out-patient in the afternoon.
I am optimistic that this can be applied to Syringomyelia patients.
