I'm a 26 yr old T10 complete para. I was injured last year April 21. Therefore, I'm fairly new to my SCI. With all that being said, I decide to get involved in wheelchair racing. I signed up to do a full marathon (26.2miles) which takes place in October. I'm pretty much self-training. I was hoping someone can give me tips or advice from people who are more experienced than I am. I would appreciate all the help I can get :helpme:

bro i hope your really conditioned thats a hell of a marathon for trained runners!! lol.... I would imagine firstly you need a wheel chair equipped for that purpose with a comfortable dump to give you a nice stroke on your wheels, if you have that then just train train train find a stretch of road in a nearby suburb and go i know for running they make a chute to give resistance this could be usefull as it could cut back a lot of training miles a sled would be useless as that would be more for explosiveness maybe for a short distance sprint.. wow 26 miles is a long haul bro hope you are in exceptionally great cardiovascular condition!!! have you calculated how many strokes or how many times you have to spin your wheels with your hands in a mile? please give some more info and please keep us posted!! best of luck to you bro!! where is the event taking place etc etc :emoticon-0165-muscle:
