I have had some bladder accidents recently and am wondering if anyone can recommend a good medication with low side effects that will help me not have bladder issues. I'm currently not on any meds for the bladder.

Vesicare's meant to have few side effects.
Paraplegic with Spina Bifida. Sensory and function level is T8. T11-L5 fusion 1993. Laminectomy and decompression T10 2006. Spinal fusion T8-T12 with instrumentation Feb 2007. Moderate kyphoscoliosis. Taking 75mg Lyrica 3xday for neuropathic pain.

I take oxybutinin. It makes a huge difference, and I don't have any side effects. If I miss a dose I sure know it.

I used to have bladder spasms at anything over about 250ml which caused accidents but equally worrying is the possibility of reflux where urine can be forced back up into your kidneys with all the associated problems that can bring. I am now on 20mg of oxybutyn and the spasms are a thing of the past. I have some sensation and can feel 'twinges from my bladder when I need to go and it's usually about 450 to 600ml when that happens.
I recommend trying it, if it does not work then there is botox which can be injected into the walls of the bladder (10 to 30 injections) and that paralyzes the bladder. This lasts 4 monts to a year but I believe is less effective each time so best left until it's absolutely necessary.

I am good with either Oxybutanin or vesicare, but my perscribed 10mg is sometimes not quite enough.Oddly, I do not need it every day, but more like every other day.
Look! It's a snail! It's a sloth! Able to creep short distances before lunch!

i take oxybutrin to control bladder accidents and hiprex to prevent infections. this combination works great for me.
hi fellow gimps! i'm a c 6/7 quad and have been injured since 1986. i was in a roll over hydroplane accident and it took hours for the paramedics to get me out of the car in the pouring rain. that definately wasn't my day. but alas life goes on!
