The police in the uk have a tough job [my niece is in the met] they had no body armour the first night and no guns i doubt if they would just recklessly shoot anyone without reasonable provocation, but we have to wait till the results of the enquiry

I get your drift Tom but they were Riots in England. English Riots gives the impression everyone involved was English. If people take the time to check through the lists of rioters being charged they will see they come from all walks of life and all ages.

I think this is a great option! No discrimination with age, colour or social background, they are all idiots despite everything!

Geoff I agree, Idiot is not strong enough.
I was humbled today watching the way communities have come together to help those affected.
On Tuesday commuters were getting off the train and going straight into the the pub to lay in wait for anyone trying to start trouble in our area, (not an excuse to go drinking midweek!) they were prepared to stand up for what was right and protect their communities. This was replicated across london, for example, in Southall the asian sikh community were out protecting their Temple. Thankfully the police presence seemed to deter any trouble, I was out yesterday evening and saw police searching several youths that were hanging around in their usual spot, even the cinema had a police (well community support officers!) presence
It shows that London's spirit will not be broken by a minority, the majority will stand up for what is right

1. Get looters to go and carry out a half burnt body from a burning building like fireman do.
2. Get looters to go tell the parents of the badly burnt body is that of their child like policemen do.
3. Get looters to go to a road traffic accident and deal with a severe head injury like ambulance workers do.
4. Wear these 3 uniforms in turn and get abused by certain members of public because they 'dress in the same uniform' as ones whom told them off one day.
5. They may get a nasty injury..like sci from the attack and wait for treatment..for a long time because recent riots bumped up the nhs witing lists.
Thats true community service. Stopping benefits wont solve nothing..the clothes they wear aint from £60 a week job seekers...many rob to get drugs..of middle aged white english drug dealers...whose profits are as fueled by working people...as they are them on the dole.
Importantly, remmber..many peoples feelings get trampled on every day by their own loved ones..not until material goods are stolen is this seen as 'horrific'.
just as there were loads of looters..many more of england are not looters.
takes me back to a post i sent on here a few days before it happened...degrade people for kindness and sneer at others whom hold doors open for you...and there will be a nation whom smash down your door instead......i wonder how i know i was right (unfortunatley)

It's good that things have settled down and people can began to rebuild or put things/ their lives back in order as they"ve known them to be. If 40% of the children there live in poverty then maybe , just maybe , someone needs to look at the real dynamic and start a process of change for the overall good. People rise to a level which they understand , is accessible to them and give them a say ......... be it right , wrong , unjust , civil or creates mass discord. Their actions are not understood by those above their situation / condition you only understand what you know , been through or lived. Is it right to charge the streets and create mayhem? No its not. In frustration , rage or anger maybe it's the only way they felt their pain would be felt. The divide between the haves and the havenots ........is ever broadening. A person who has always had a job and has been able to provide for themselves a comfortable lifestyle doesn't understand the hardship of somebody who had to struggle to make ends meet even though the one struggling may have tried to survive by just means. We only exist in our own skins and we live life through our own situations / experiences. And justice is suppose to be blind. Hell poverty, pain, heart - ache, struggle , strife and love can touch or be felt by anybody. The world as a whole is burning ...... not only London. But then again who really knows.
