My First Solo Road Trip (Last Week)

Here is a short video that sums up my trip that I was really excited about:



Yesterday, our family went to a state park and I had a fall getting back into my chair and ended up in the ER with a "contusion to my coccyx" but no break! I have been ordered to my bed and off my bottom for a week so it can heal! I think there is a curse on this forum!:)

Anyway, glad I had my "girl trip" first!!:) Just thought I would share it with you guys since I have so much time on my hands right now!:)

Good for you! I remember my first "roadtrip" by myself and how great, yet scared, I was. I hope you had as much fun and excitement as I did. Going down the road I had the windows down in my truck and for a little bit I actually felt like my old self again! I still get a big smile thinking about it! :)

Good to see you "pushing the envelope" some. If you get to do it more often, might I suggest a motor club membership to take care of little things like flats or running out of gas. Back when I traveled by myself it did come in handy a couple of times and increased my confidence. Best wishes.....

Welcome back Alicia.. So glad you enjoyed it! At least you have some good memories to think Back on while you heal up.. :hug:

Thanks for sharing this ! I enjoyed watching it very much. You are an inspiration. I remember my first outing also. My husband was way more nervous than I was. I am really impressed with how you handle your chair/getting it in and out of the car.

I also have a road service (AAA), and it does give peace of mind.

Hope the tail bone heals up quickly. I didn't know I had broken mine until several months after my SCI, when my surgeon asks,"Oh, by the way, when did you break your tailbone?" It apparently healed fine, probably while I was in ICU and paralyzed.

You go girl! I bet your family is so proud.
