Still a few places available for next week's event at Aston Down, between Stroud and Cirencester.
You will get the chance to have a taster flight; being winch-launched is exhilarating enough, but the views over the Cotwolds will also take your breath away. Then you can harness the power of the wind and try Blokart sailing; it's a mini landyacht that can reach speeds of up to 60MPH in the right conditions.

Contact myself or the Sportability office for more details or to register.

Would love to give Blokarting a go, Chris - but not available on this one. How many courses do you run there? Something for the autumn..

Everything will be alright in the end, if it's not alright then it's not the end!

Any plans to come a bit farther north?

Guido / Doodle: There's a BLSA Fun Weekend at Aston Down scheduled for the 3rd and 4th September (although I can't make the 3rd); it may be possible to try gliding but you'd have to arrange it with Aston Down (and pay for it). If you want to have a free glider flight as well then we'll probably going to get a date sorted for late October, but it will most likely be the last outing of the year!
Tinbasher: there is some Blokart sailing @ Ainsdale beach, but I've no idea when people are going out or even if people are offering taster sessions. I do know someone that way and can put you in touch if you like. Otherwise Calvert Trust, Keswick had a couple of Blokarts years ago (that's where I first tried it and got hooked immediately). There was a race meeting in the Midlands last weekend; still a long way from you, though. I had a smashing time and thrashed all the ABs; it's the second event I've won this year. Would be good to get some more paras involved in the race scene -it's a lot of fun and very friendly (but still fiercely competitive!).

To find out more about Blokart sailing visit The BLSA. There are activity providers across the country; they usually charge £10 or £20 for a taster session.

We've got more Area Organisers on board this year and have expanded further across the country; last year we were able to offer 650 free places at events; this year it will be more. Unfortunately we're not up to Cumbria just yet.
