I'm a recent (9/10) c6/7 quad using a power chair. I don't have use of my hands but do have wrist extension. Does anyone with the same level use a manual chair instead of a power chair?

I'm the same level and have been using manual for more than 35 years. Special quad gloves are available but often I don't use them and push directly on tires.

I'm a C4-5 and have been using a manual chair for about 23 years. Great exercise. You might want to build up your endurance alittle bit first. I think you'll really enjoy a manual chair better after getting adjusted to it. It's so much quiter and less bulky.

C5/6 no fingers but wrist extension. On a manual chair but some terrain make pushing difficult hills both up n down, sand, dirt, and uneven pavement! :head_brick_wall-1: Just got approved for power assist wheels the emotion ones that help you push a manual chair. Should check um out

Hi I've got the same movements in my wrist and I use an otto bock and they have these silicon grip which u just slip onto ur push rims. They provide friction between ur palm and the rims and u also don't get ur hands dirty by propelling using the wheels.U can also find some push rims which are already silicon coated. Its helped me a lot especially on plain surfaces. As for uneven surfaces I guess u do have to build up strength or use power assist wheels
