Am struggling while council try sort out housing .The only way can get into my main bathroom is by getting out chair in hall and dragging myself on my backside into bathroom and then repeat to get out .Can get in small room for wash as long as do not want to shut the door

My door is to narrow to ge tmy 18inch chair through and think your be hard pushed get a smaller one through due to doors .Now since rented can not do anythong about doorsize

Is there a small narrow bathroom chair that can self propel an d transfer in the hall from my wheelchair

If you take a screwdriver or drill to take the door off at the hinges & store it in a closet for safe keeping, then hang a shower curtain rod across the doorway & place a shower curtain to give some privacy.....although it won't keep any smells or sounds muffled it will keep your VIEW from being reviewed. ;)

Iv done this very same thing while visiting a friends apartment.

You may want to find a smaller chair. Many PTs fit their patients into chairs that are way too wide & have too much camber. My everyday chair fits snug & has a seat width of 13.5" (clothing protectors are a must!) 4 degrees of camber & no axle spacers gives me an overall width of 22". There arent many doorways or bathrooms i cant fit into.

Also consider settingup our chair with a center of gravity (axle location) pretty far forward. Having a footrest that keeps my feet tucked in under my knees helps keep em outa the way. It'll take a while getting used to being tippy, but you'll love the tight turning radius.

I'm an average size guy 5'8" 160lbs & am completely comfortable in my little Ti Sport. I've had this same chair for 11 years & love the way it fits like a glove. If i hadnt met Steve Ackerman (Freedom Ryder Handcycles) while doing my rehab at Craig hospital i never would have know how convienient & compact a wheelchair can be.
