My father has, I believe a T12 injury. He has been a quad for 33 years. Within the last year, he has began to have odd sensations. He has complained about the feeling of a net across his chest. Also an icy cold wire sensation in the same area that is painful. Another complaint is a rubber hose/spaghetti feel in the chest and abdomin area as well as his hands. He also has a vibration feel in both hands. He has had this in the right hand but has now had it in the left as well. His last complaint is the feeling of a steel rod being rammed into his gut.

He has had various tests without any findings. He has had heart issues, but was cleared the last time. Also, his doctor has taken him off all meds and re introduced them one by one without success. He asked that I google his symptoms to see what it might be and all I can come up with is anxiety. Does anyone have any other suggestions on what his symptoms could be? If additional info is needed, I can get it from either him or the care center he resides.

Thank you in advance.

T12's are not quad's.

My apologies. It's been a while since I was told what level his injury was at (talking almost 20 years). I know it was in his neck. He has use of arms, but not hands. If that is important to diagnose, I can verify which vertibrae was affected.

He's asked me to see what possibilites could be causing the symptoms listed.

From what he has said, yes. I know he is going to be going to a neurologist soon, but not sure when.

Is there anything he can do to alleviate some of his discomfort?
