I have been having problems with mental confusion, dizziness and hallucinations on baclofen. I take a relatively low dose, but don't react well to it. The neurosurgeon said I should consider a baclofen pump, but I am a borderline case. He doesn't usually recommend it for people at my level. He says there is a 1 - 2% chance of problems with putting something into the central nervous system. I'm scared. I'd like to get the benefits of baclofen without the mental deterioration, but I am fairly high function. I can "walk", stagger, crawl, whatever you want to call it. I don't want to lose that. Have any walkers had this done? Does anyone, walker or wheeler, have a sense of the chance of additional damage? I read some of the articles Simon put up, but they don't give me a sense of whether or not I should try this. Three days in the hospital, with a thingy in my spinal cord, getting test doses? (I hate hospitals, just like everyone else on here.) The chance of doing further damage? I'm looking for pluses and minuses, to help make the decision.

Thanks.
