Hello there

I just thought I would share my good news and give you some encouragement.

After over 4 years of fighting the NHS (national health service) They have finally buckled under pressure and have settled out of court.

I am so pleased its all over

So, the moral of the story is - keep fighting and you will get there.

It has been the hardest 4 years of my life just fighting the case never mind coming to terms with being in a chair and the failure of my bladder, but if I can do it anyone can.

hi there andy pandy

excellent news, i am always extremly happy to hear news that genuine cases like yours, get what they truly deserve.
And the hospital staff involved are never allowed to let this hapen again.
And that all the wasters who sue just because they see the 'no win no fee' carrott - and spoil it for ones like you whom have added doubt cast on their case.....would read this to see what damage they cause. to hospital staff and patients equally.

I hope that you can put this behind you to rest,no longer the doubt and asking yourself, are you genuine, the mistrust of the nhs disolved. These 3 fators get drilled into peoples minds and no amount of compensation can bring back those 4 years of life of awful added stress.

I decided to get counselling for the sheer abuse i got....and a promise from the nhs i never ever have to be under the care of the two hospitals involved as an in-patient. I actually do trust seeing the out-patient teams there as i know these particular consultants are wonderful. These are known as Dr's..

Consultants can be Dr or Mr..the difference, the Mr Cuts....The Dr does not and does investigations (neurology and pain management the examples). I hope you are under the care of only the hospital you feel safe with.

And the bastards who did this to you, that they grow a concious because to know they did this to you....then put you thorough even more pain in a long court case...they are wicked. I know personally of 2 gynaecologists whom funded their drug habit operating on women..whom had full hysterectomys and removal of the clitorus part..for NOTHING WRONG.

And also.....you are really strong, your note so lovely and positive, you may once have been 'only me', to have gone thorough sci and this too..you are far from being 'only'

Hi Pinkcloud

Thanks very much for so much support. I used to work in GPs surgeries and hospitals before this happened to me so I know alot about the NHS and Dr's & Mr's.

Luckily it wasn't a court case, it didn't get that far, but the stress I have been through almost finished me off to be honest.

I don't see consultants anymore because once I had surgery to de-tether my cord there was nothing more they could do, although luckily I don't live in the area anymore of the hospitals that made the "mistakes" so if I ever do need to go for whatever reason its fine.

Thanks for taking the time to support me

Andy

Hi Andy

Snap, i was direct admin to both Dr's and Mr's in the nhs/private and didn't know until about 5 years into me carer what the difference was..... I told them 'whats the flipping point of training that much to go back to getting the Mr title again...ooooo how bimbo :D

its for this very reason i wouldnt sue, only because i knew them involved. I'm sure not many of them would feel for me the same loyalty yet hey. ...what can i say, nothing in life is free and
me happy stress free mind is at the price of money. I sure dont turn me nose up at no-one who sues, yet as ya found..i heard so many times sueing nearly finished others off. And me? Heck i manage sci and life real well, i spent too many years so tired proving i had something wrong...'disc herniation was it ever there re-visited'..was a world i sure dont want to be re-visiting.

So i real appreciate what you went thorough. I didnt mean court itself, i meant all the legal shite to get case completed before they come up with an offer'. i watch that description in future, thank you i can be lapse sometimes.

Enjoy your new found freedom from the horrid extra stress.. You sure do deserve it.

Hiya PC

Don't worry about your lapse over the "court case" I have many lapses a day LOL.

I think your right about them not showing you the same courtesy. Is it too late to sue ? but then like you say you can't put a price on peace of mind. I think if I knew how hard it was going to be when I started the case I would definitely have thought long and hard. I think it was a case of "ignorance is bliss" up to a certain point when it started to get nasty.

Whereabouts are you in the UK ? I am in Cornwall.

Cheers

A BIG Congratulations! I bet you are feeling good it is now over . I hope you can now move forward in the way you wish. I have a lengthy very stressful 'situ' going on too. My only one concern, is , Is there any sense of anti climax? I am concerned this will happen to me.

Thanks everyone

Hi Scatty

My case came to a close about a month ago and I can honestly say I haven't felt an anti-climax more relief that I don't have to keep re-living the whole awful 8 years to different people. Its weird not hearing from my solicitor and he is such a lovely man I miss him !

Good luck with your case
