Hi all,

My son's surgeon has suggested botox injections to help with his spasms. Have any of you guys had any major relief as a result of these injections? How long do these injections last for?

I get them about every 3 months. It does help me but the effects go up and down.
I find that I see results starting at about 2 weeks in from their the spasm's get better up to about 1/2 way through then they start gettting back to where they where b4.
I do find if I can get right after each other exacly 3 months appart its not to bad

And My insurance pays the full cost about $3000can

I had Botox Injections, but it didn't really work that well. I think it might have helped a tiny but, but not enough to really notice. I also think that because I was looking for any tiny sign of improvement I might have been imagining that it was working more than it was. Now that I think back on it right from the day I got the injections I kept paying really close attention to my spasms to find out how good the injections were working.

My son got his injections and he said that there is a marked improvement in his spasms during the day but he says they are still as bad first thing in the morning, which he says is only to be expected after the night. We will see how long it lasts.

Thanks for the replies.

Lynne
