Last week the US Congress declared this month (September) to be "National Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month"..* couldn't find whether anyone had mentioned this previously..

I hate to say this,, but,,, there MUST have been something more pressing they could have been doing than naming another month. While It may well have been done with good intentions it seems like balancing an inflated budget,, bringing home our troops from TWO different wars,,, or even working on ways to decrease our use of energy without taxing us to do it,,,, might have taken a higher priority. After all,,, the only thing that this order was really meant to do was placate the conscience of those voting for it.

Looking at it in a positive light, I'm glad they did it..If the awarness brings more funding to sci research or causes the Average Joe to become educated about the issue, more the better..SCI is kinda of a important issue as far as I'm concerned so way to go congress, ya finally agreed on something...
