Hey everyone,
I am looking into starting to shoot once more and I stumbled upon the Be Adaptave website and i love the look of the LM 100. (http://www.beadaptiv...pages/lm100.htm) and i was wondering if anyone owns one and could give me a bit of a review as it is not particularly cheap and i dont want to buy it unless i know i can shoot with it. Being ex-infantry i am not really into target shooting an much prefer hunting so any coments on the product would be great.

I have never used one, but two things stand out. If it were me, I'd weld a receiver onto my chair frame as opposed to sitting on a plate. It seems like that'd be more stable, and less hassel. Secondly, since you specifically want it for hunting, that hints at medium to heavy calibers, 6mm, .30 cal., maybe bigger. A way to securely anchor the gun to the rest, and utilize a gas piston to absorb recoil, would make for quicker follow-up shots if needed.

As a side note, see what their return policy is. The only way to be sure is to try it out with the chair and rifle you intend to use....

I don't have both arms to use that one and I definitely didn't want to buy their electronic model: http://www.beadaptiv...pages/hq100.htm as it is very costly and I wanted to do as much as I could with my own body. My dad and I designed and built one that I could use and it handled the recoil of a 12 gauge, but a minor design flaw gave me a sore neck, jaw and fat lip. I redesigned my rig and its currently being fixed to allow the chair to absorb the recoil, instead of my head. There is another SCI site and a special forum for hunting/shooting talk: http://sci.rutgers.e....php?groupid=38
I planned to do the trigger with my right arm, but my first design caused me to look away to push the trigger mechanism, so my dad is shown firing it. Buckmasters disabled hunters program has given me a bite switch to add to my redesigned rig. Here's a pic of mine that I tested earlier this year. I'll post my redesign once it's done.

You know, l have an lnvacare powerchair that has small pads mounted on both leg-rests designed to hold my knees in position. l've often thought however with a little work some round bar could easily be fashioned to fit into the clamp and hold my rifle. Maybe a local metal worker could fashion you something similar for a lot less money.

That rig you linked, works really well for a friend of mine who is a quad. He has taken a number of animals with it. In fact,, check out Greg at his blog site,,, pittrehab.blogspot.com. He used his with his cross bow to take a whitetail doe Saturday.

If you want,, you can probably contact him directly thru that site,,,,, I would have to ask him if it would be all right to just GIVE you his email address. I would consider it rude if I didn't.
good hunting.

Hi all. I'm brand new to this website. I've been a T3 complete paraplegic for a year and 5 months now. Been military and/or law enforcement my entire adult life until now. Always liked recreational shooting since I was a kid. I've recently got into shooting pistols. I have also joined the Glock Sport Shooting Foundation and will be shooting my first competitive match in May. I don't know if you would consider my method of shooting "adaptive". The only thing I use while shooting is the chest strap on my wheelchair to keep my upper body stable while shooting. Other than the chest strap, it's all the same as a non-disabled shooter. Are there any other shooting organizations that you all belong to that I might be interested in also. Thanks in advance.
