I've been thinking about doing a one day fast and then taking some laxatives. I'm having hard dark stools.

I used to fast before my injury just for health reasons, even though some people don't agree with it. Has anybody here had experience with fasing while in a chair?

Myself I've never fasted before. But I will say that very dark to black stools is caused by internal bleeding in you bowel. So I would keep a close eye on this, just for your own benefit.

I'm not sure where you are but in Ontario Canada where I live I buy this intestinal cleanse three to four times a year. It detoxifies your gut then eliminates the bad stuff. These herbs are not aggressive, so you could go about your daily/nightly prowling, and not have any accidents. Just make sure that you do your toilet routine ever day. If you decided to do it every other day then you are looking at some embarrassing moments.

Good luck and I hope you fix this possible problem.

I think fasting AND taking laxatives is not a good idea. You system may go into shock, it does sound like blood so maybe you are damaging yourself when doing a manual or yours stools are hard. For latter, eat better and drink at least 3litrs/day.

I'd be really interested to see a daily food journal from you. I just have this underlying feeling that from all your recent posts and my own experience with such issues, your system is craving a different diet. Ever talked to a nutritionist?
