Hello
First of all I want to be totally honest and tell everyone that I do not have a spinal injury.
I am hoping that some of the members may be able to give me some advice. Three years ago we built a very small accessible rural hotel in Spain called Casa Brazos Abiertos (Spanish for Open Arms).
We have great reviews on Trip Advisor but most of our guests do not need the facilities we offer. When we have had wheelchair users here they love the accommodation and tell us that it is difficult to find a small rural hotel with this level of accessability...so my question is....how do we reach more people who need an accessible place. Perhaps our web site needs reviewing?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks

Thanks for sharing. I think it's fantastic you built an accessible hotel.
Congratulations on the great reviews.
Your hard work and compassion for the disabled will pay off. I don't have any first hand knowledge of where to advertise but I know you will have posts from those that do know. I would also encourage you to use the search criteria and you should find some answers there.
Take care and good luck to you!

I would love to visit your hotel! Thanks for the info and I'll be sure to add it to my list of places to visit!
I would suggest you try posting to the Christopher Reeve Foundation site, but in general just getting the right marketing is key. It's great that your hotel is accessible. It's encouraging to know that even rural areas can have an accessible option.

I love Spain and have just looked at your website and it looks lovely.
I have just got back from Montana Sol a week today (another small english family owned hotel that caters for disabled guests). Love that part of Spain and for October I recorded temps of 100 degrees in the sun.
I can vouch for the help at Malaga airport-the airport staff were very helpful and friendly and with Torremolinos being so close you are only in transit for about 15 minutes altogether. When leaving the airport the facilities were very limited-I think they put all the english that were leaving in the old part of the airport. There was a toilet-but refreshments and the duty free were very limited and it was impossible to buy a newspaper.
Good luck with your business. I understand things are difficult for everyone in Spain right now and there were several shops/restaurants closed along the Carihuela but the people at Montana Sol and yourselves should do well still because good quality disabled accommodation is so hard to come by.
Well done for being brave and taking the plunge.
Can I just quickly ask-are you also close to Malaga airport and do you also collect disabled people from the airport free of charge and also offer daily trips to local amenities free of charge. (What I mean is included in the price of a week's rental.)
