I have had questions always quickly answered by this forum so thank you for that. I am a t12 para complete. I have 2, 18 cm rods with 8 screws holding my back together. I have been managing pain pretty well. But on narcotics. Norco 10/325 twice every 8 hours. I have tried going over the counter with it with aleve and advil and will not get passed a day and a half without being in agonizing pain. Now i have figured out that i have three separate pains depending on my day. one is feeling like someone is grabbing my spine. two is someone is grabbing my kidney. and three achy all over. The kidney one is not a UTI or anything like that. I think that is more from the liver laceration scar tissue. All of those pains have been managed. The new one is a metalic pain. Like I am in the process of scratching my back with a rusty nail. I am concerned with it being related to the hardware in my back now. Not even the norco can take it away. I am able to tolerate it better with the norco but mostly the pills only deal with the direct pain stated in the day to day stuff. I am wondering what may be going on. I am faily confident in my doctors. two originally in wisconsin were my accident happened. My uncle who is a doctor who works with SCI patients and my two rehab doctors have all taken separate images of my back. I am a year post injury and wondering why the change. What now. what might i be looking at dealing with coming up. So does having an active life screw with the hardware. why after a year if it is biological is it showing up now. or is it something that happens over time because of something unstated.

I don't have any hardware but I can tell you that unfortunately the pain I had initially when I got hurt went away but then came back with a vengeance & has just gotten progressively worse as the years & decades have rolled on. :shitfan:

After one year, I had a similar experience. I was told that the swelling, due to trauma, in my spine, was diminishing. As a result, I was having more back pain but also more feeling below my injury level.
