Having tried all the top brand named cushions available to us in the UK, all without any success of keeping my right isch pressure sore at bay I took the plunge and ordered a Span america ish - dish plus http://www.spanameri...m/isch_dish.php through Sportaid http://www.sportaid.com/home.php based in the USA with a spare cover at a cost of around $364 including a spare cover and USPS Express delivery. My cushion arrived last Monday and had my first try out Tuesday, what a great cushion, the sitting position is great and I am now able to spend 4 hours plus on it with no damage to the existing sore, or any redness to my legs, the cutout, which was the large is just the right size to give clearance to both ischs and they touch nothing. Highly recommended, the only down side is with having a space under my bum my farts are now more audible!!!!!!!!!

Hey Skid

How comfortable is your new cushion? I'm in the market for a new cushion and looking at all my options. I currently use a Jay2 but I'm finding my rear starts hurting toward the end of the day. I've been lucky with no skin problems just pain.

Be careful my husband used an ISCH_DISH for over 5 years.It was great for his butt, but his leg (hip area) got reder and reder and gradually turned into a sore. He cant use the cushion any more.

Hi, at the moment I'm breaking it in, according to the instructions it takes a few weeks, but it seems very comfy, I have quite a bit of sensation in the upper legs area and the jays (deep contour & j3) both made my legs feel numb after 20 mins or so use.
I was up for around 5 hours yesterday which included around 30 mins in the van, I travel in the chair also, (my mrs thinks she's a F1 driver!) so van travel used to skin my bum on the jays, but when I eventually got on the bed to check there was no redness and my sore isch was still healing very nicely.
So far I am very impressed with the cushion.
I don't know if your in the US but Span America offer a try out on the cushion according to their site.

Was your husband on the same Isch dish for all the time or was it replaced periodically?

Thanks for the warning, thats how the jay3 was with me, it was great to start with then eventually got worse & worse. Can I ask what cushion he is on now?

This was a problem trying to sort a new one out. He is now on a Vicair Centre Relief cushion. Its a new one from Vicair, it has a center pocket similar to the old cushion.The sore on the side of his leg is healing on this cushion.He still says the ICSH- DiSH was a better cushion.He also passed water better on the Isch Dish.

Iv'e just googled the new Vcair centre relief, it looks a good idea, I have a Vicair vector academy as a back up, just in case!

MY husband could nt get on with the nomal Vicair,but this one is ok.

my experience with isch-dish is that it's good for emergency, but way too hard for everyday prevention.. the jay 2 deep contour is the same basic idea: keeping one up off those crucial bones... but by far more comfortable.. i should point out that the outer foam parts of the jay cushion do slowly flatten out over a couple of months.. those are the parts designed to keep you off the isch and cox.. no one ever seems to mention this.. it's hard to notice the change in the cushion by appearance .. it looks normal, yet you are getting more and more uncomfortable.. so you might need a new one every few months.. as anyone with an sci knows, a few millimeters can change things dramatically...
