I have a spinal cord injury at the c5-c6 level and my neurologist calls it a melopathy spinal cord injury. I really don't understand it much. I am able to use crutches to get around so far but my prognosis has been eventually to be in a wheel chair but who knows when that will be as I fight it as much as I can. I also have nerve damage to my neck and lower back and have developed neuropathy in my legs/feet, bone spurs and spinal stenosis at other levels in my neck.

I just was told about this sight and if anyone has anything they can share I'd love to hear from anyone. I deal with a lot of pain, migraines, muscle spasms, muscle cramps. I'm on disability but just lost my disability reveiw so I'm having to fight that now. I wonder if any other people have had to fight to continue getting disabiltiy also. Their reason was my back had improved and my injury is in my neck so it didn't make since to me why they had made their decision. Social Security also did not put my paper work through for my continued benefits which is causing problems with my Humana medicare advantage insurance. At this point they are telling me it will be best to enroll again at the beginning of the month instead of doing a one time reinstatement of the insurance in case I would need to ever use that reinstatement at another time. My attorney didn't think it was something he should be dealing with so I went down to the Social Security Office at sat to find out when my medicare parts a and b would be put back into the system and they told me my attorney should be handling it but it would be put back in by the end of the month. They also told me I would receive my benefits until my appeal is resolved.

I live in Louisiana and the case worker I talked to told me it might be up to a year just to get to the first hearing. My attorney told me this would all be fixed in about 14 months. Does anyone know about the process when your on disabilty and the determine you are no longer disabled and the appeals process?

I know I'm asking a lot of questions but maybe I'll find some answers here. Thanks to anyone who has any input.

Welcome Kirkly to the forum. You might get a better response about your diagnosis is you start another thread in the incomplete section and make it just about your SCI.

Try another thread just about your Social Security denial. It's always best to keep issues separate and kinda short....more people will then take the time to read. Our attention span is short and sweet.

As goose said try the topics in a different thread. I believe you are going to get responses because there are great people here with different experiences and we all try to help one another. Good luck and keep fighting (even though it's rough)!

Goose makes a good point. Sometimes a post can be full of detail, which is good. But with lots of different questions which is not so good. Just keep posting and you will find someone usually had to deal with a similar situation.
