I'm nearly five years post-injury and had decompression surgery c5-6 shortly afterwards(had a bone splinter in and blood clot on cord from injury)and problem is: I have had severe neck pain, accompenied by muscle cramps and spasms ever since..I have a muscle knot in the back of the neck, which increses in size as the day progresses into night as does the tightness of the muscles around it...Sometimes it seems like stress aggrivates the situation...Anyone else have this problem?...They put a bone graft and metal plate in the neck during surgery and I recently had it x-rayed and everything is still in place but it showed severe arthritus in the neck c4-7..

UNFORTUNATELY! :shitfan:

I broke L2 but dislocated a BUNCH of vertebra.....everyone went in different directions creating a "box-car effect" on my spinal column. No hardware but I started getting arthritis, not the winter of 90/91 but by the winter of 91/92 I could tell when any weather was approaching better than most senior-citizens. Now I've got osteoarthritis (don't know how that differs from just run of the mill arthritis) from C2-S1....oh joy! :doctor: As to the how to deal.....I just try keeping a heating pad handy....they help A LOT! Drugs....but they suck. :drooldrip: My B/F gives some of the most BOMB-ASS massages! :specool:

I thougtht you was a pain in the neck...now you confirmed it!! LOL

Two suggestions...(1)Heat like a rice bag heated in the mircowave or those heat patches for sore muscles.

(2)Magnets...I've used them before and they make me a loose goose.

or (3) find someone willing to rub those aches and pains away!!!
