Hey Aggzy.
I would have thought going for a massage wouldn't physically harm you, as long as they are gentle which most are! Although Im not a high injury may be some one who has a high injury can comment! I would have thought any massage would be good for your muscles whether you can use them or not! When I went for massage I was required to get on the bed the provide! You may be able to get a home treatment? Enjoy!

Everything will be alright in the end, if it's not alright then it's not the end!

It helps tremendously with muscle spasms, circulation and toxin build up. It should be safe unless you already have an injury that could be aggrivated by a vigorous rubdown. I've lived in a few places that had massage therapy schools near by, it was easy to find some cute young thing that wanted someone to practice on (wink, wink)....

Anyone Messaging their own legs or having someone else doing it, Should Know first that you message from top Down So Not to push up an unknown Clot Freeing it to travel to a Dangerous place. heart, lungs, Brain.
That I was told many years ago, and I'm guilty of forgetting it when the message feel so Good !!

Massages are great. If you're not known to be a high risk candidate for clots I personally wouldn't worry about them. In the areas that you can't feel keep to light massaging. As others have indicated no deep tissue stuff or pummelling.
If it's a sexual massage you want then be up front about it because only some people will be willing to take part.
It's easier to get a therapeutic massage but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy it. Nothing wrong with a light, sensual therapeutic massage. Very relaxing. Tune in for subtlies when massaging nonsensory areas and appreciate the rush as they move into areas where you can feel.
The only place I can think of where you shouldn't get massaged is on a busy street cos you might get run over.
Head massages are primo.

I used to be a massage therapist and exchanged services with many in the profession. Few have experience with sick or injured people. Few would know that your bones are likely brittle. So be very careful. I suggest you ask friends to refer you to someone they know is quite gentle. If you cannot feel you cannot sense danger, and there are actually a lot of ways someone can hurt you. heck, I have a list of injuries inflicted by PTs and doctors, and they shoould realy know better.
Look! It's a snail! It's a sloth! Able to creep short distances before lunch!

I grad. from massage school right before my accident. I try and get a massage every week. The only thing you need to do really is go to your doctor and have your legs ultrasound to see if you have any blood clots. If not then there should be no problem with having a massage. If you do then tell them to stay away from your legs. Only get deep tissue on areas you can feel. And when you find someone you trust then you can have them stretch your legs as well. Massage is great for spasms. Make sure you drink plenty of water after and enjoy your massage!
