Just thinking in my head all the time. I used to play football. part of the required equipment was a gurdle with a tailbone bad. just wondering if anyone has ever thought if that would help prevent sores from sitting. Just a thought. I mean the average cost for a good wheelchair cushion is about$200 a gurdle from under armor is only 80. just a thought

I'm thinking there is a very high chance that you'd just be trading one source or sores for another; yes both the football girdle & cushions made FOR a w/c can help protect the tailbone area.....BUT....the w/c cushions are designed to allow air circulation to the skin but the football girdles look like they're made of a spandex or nylon material....this to MY thinking could harm the skin over more than just on your bum/butt, also the padding isn't the squishy kind of padding it's the "brace for impact" kind of padding which could also make sores.....just maybe not on the tailbone. Football players don't wear their gear for 18 hours EVERY day....I think if the players had to wear those pants EVERY day ALL day eventually they too might start getting some skin problems.
My ROHO-Quattro was $400
HOWEVER that being said.....it was still worth every penny(And yes of course I do wish they were MUCH cheaper $400 is 1/2 of my monthly income.
).
