I am writing on behalf of my Dad who has a C6/7 injury following a motercycle accident a year ago. He has recovered movement in his legs but is being hindered by a band of tight muscle across his stomach area. This is making it difficult for him to stand up as he is continually fighting the muscle contraction. Iam looking to discuss this with anyone who has experienced something similar or seek advice on where I can go for further medical advice. His doctor is at a loss to find a solution. He has tried upping the belclafen dose but all this does is stop the legs working properly.

I suggested that to the doctor assigned to his case but he said that it was not suitable given the number of overlapping muscles in that area and the risks were too great!? Do you know anyone who has been treated in that area using botox?

No, I don't know of anyone treated with botox in that area,
you might try posting your same question over at care cure at http://sci.rutgers.edu/index.php? and see if they have any ideas...
