I'm looking for suggestions for footwear.

I need some reasonably sensible shoes/boots that I can wear for meetings and such work environment occasions.

Black or brown leather size 45 or 46 10 1/2 to 11 UK size.

I wear size 11 trainers but my feet are prone to swelling so the ones I have are with elasticated laces which work great.

Looking for online ordering or at least a website so the shoes can be viewed and then I'll try and find a way to get them.

Any country, does not need to be UK.

Bearing in mind I do not walk at, all only sit, any suggestions ?

These would do you:

Smart and stylish, traditional, the laces could be replaced with elastic to allow for expansion and the great thing is if one comes off during a transfer it will still be attached to your ankle.
How does it feel to feel?

Maybe if you went one size bigger it would help

What about a pair of Nessie slippers Colin, you would stand out in the crowd.

I know I can be a bit flippant at times but this was a serious question.

My last several pairs of trainers have been Merrells (pre and post sci) Some of their trainers have elasticated laces, their shoes often have little elastic expander bits on them..... ah here's a picture of what I am trying (failing) to describe!

They are a bit pricey but they are easy to shop around for, my last pair of Merrells cost me half of the price listed on the website!

Thanks Trinny,

Cotton Traders

I've been wearing a pair of these for months and they are the best I've had in ages and dirt cheap by comparison.

Unfortunately the "dress" ones don't look quite so good but I may give them a try.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE STRETCH LACES......MY FEET SWELL LIKE HELL ALSO, SO I WEAR TIGHTER BOOTS (SEEMS TO HELP THE SWELLIN')....LIKE VASQUE SUNDOWNERS VERY VERSITILE BOOTS, QUITE STYLISH.

ALSO I ENJOY THE CONVERSE ALL STARS "CHUCK TAYLOR EDITION" IN LEATHER. NOT SO DRESSY THOUGH.

MY TOOTSIES DON'T BUNCH UP IN EITHER OF THEM ABOVE, PLUS I GOT ME SOME OALKEY SHOES (NOT HIGH TOP) I WON IN A POKER GAME. THEM OAKLEYS STRETCH BUT THE LACES BE REGULAR LACES.

These are what I've wearing for about a year now. Not exactly formal but boy are they comfortable - nice wide fitting and waterproof. Bit ironic that they are marketed as walking boots!

The thing I don't like about Cotton Traders shoes is that they are advertised as EE wide fitting, which I need, but I just can't get my feet into them unless I buy two sizes larger than my foot size. Then there is 2" of empty shoe in front of my toes. Their idea of "wide fitting" doesn't seem to be the same as anyone else's.

Like you, Tom, just about everything else in my wardrobe is from them. :)

GB and Tin,
Like both the suggestions there, can't argue with the pricing level of Cotton Traders.
Got myself a deal on these beauties at Cost co a couple of months ago, £39.99.

My hubby wears Merrells and he thinks they are the most comfortable shoe ever. All he will wear. Remember if ordering online that most stores will give a discount when you use their promo code. He gets alittle bigger shoe size in Merrells compared to tennis shoes.

He has the exact shoes Trinity was showing you in several colors.

I didn't know there was a serious side to you....lol

I think this style shoe could maybe fit the criteria of what ur looking for in a shoe.

Reef shoes (divers shoes) come in similar styles to the(merrel) walking shoes but instead of a hard enclosed fabric or leather upper its a stretch elasticated fabric similar to lycra (or theres wetsuit rubber ones)
getting a larger adjustable style should easily cater for swelling without being restrictive.
http://www.ebay.com....=item23157f7d2f

i dont kno if the link worked ^^^ but thats example of the style of shoes I mean...
I'd also consider its a less expensive alternative to walking shoes... costing about $20 for a decent reef shoe opposed to $80 for ur basic (merrel) walking shoe

hope my suggestion is worth consideration and possibly helps ya in findin ur footwear :)
