I know what is in it. i watched carefully for days before buying from any individual. And if they do not keep a bucket of clean water under their stall for washing hands, steer clear.
Look! It's a snail! It's a sloth! Able to creep short distances before lunch!

God, I use to get the best tamales from these guys that lived close by. Then one day saw the sheriff and animal control there. They'd been rangling every cat a dog in the area. Wonder which one was beef and which was chicken, lol. Here kitty kitty kitty

Every time I went down to Mexico I was too drunk to care what they put in the food. Never heard of anyone from the states going there for the food anyway. At least not to the border towns. As long as I got to drink the worm from the bottle and got my ashes hauled I was happy as I had good sense..Hadn't been there in few decades tho...Get your ass shot off visiting there nowadays if your not careful...

Actually the last I visited down there I got a case of the screaming shi*s..I figured it was the water but it may been the tamales or whatever I stuffed down my gullett to slow down the effects of the mescal...They had a place across from Larado I believe they called "Boys Town" but I never seen a boy one in the place...Had this big ol bull of a woman sitting at the front door with a Louisville slugger baseball bat balenced on her oversized thighs..She had legion of bizzare tatoos scattered about her arms, neck and face and stared strait ahead like a zombie all the time..The dive offered various unnatural stage acts for your entertainment pleasure..disgusting really...dogs ,with their ribs sticking out and their tounges protruding lay on the floor begging for scraps..ladies of the night sat around with great gobs of hair growing out their noses and ears..the drinks were served in thick glass goblets that hadn't been washed since the 1913 revolution...Very classsy joint...Oh, the memories..

I'm not hating anyone..Hate is such a dreadful word full of dark meanings and shouldn't be used lightly....Just gave an honest and accurate description of a place as I remember it....Unless your "people" operated a rundown cantina/sportin house in N. Laredo thirty years ago I don't see how I could of offended you...

Love, love . . . . LOVE the stuff!! 'cept that Mexican food as WE know it comes from Texas, mostly . . . . an infusion of Mexo-American cuisine.

Ever tried 'Chipotle' the newest of Mexican food chains in the US? Freshest food around, and galdarned good, too!

Anyway, I NEVER met a Mexican who put sour cream or lettuce on their burrito. In fact, they really don't make burrito's at all . . . . jus pick their food up with corn tortillas.

Sorry, used to work with 'em in a warehouse.
Got a funny story I'd like to share with y'all.
Our company did somethin' with the Marines every year round this time of the holidays called 'Toys For Tots' where customers who donated a toy for a child got a discount on our products.
Needless to say, it was quite a success.
One year, when the Marine's came in to collect all the toys at our warehouse . . . all dressed in their boots, commando fatigues to the nines, get the picture?!
All the warehouse employees scattered like ants at the sight of these Mean-Green-Marine looking suckers, . . . . 'til they noticed 'um pickin up the stuffed animals, barbies an all.
Man, they were all so relieved that they weren't the INS (Immigration Naturalization Services), they busted out laughin, laughin . . . . laughin. Wheeew.
I almost peed ma pants at the time . . . probably would now, fur shur.
Happy New Year!
Feliz Navidad!!

I love going to Mexico, and used to go to Matamoros quite often when visiting friends in Brownsville, Texas. Unfortunately and sadly, the drug violence has kept me from going the past few years. The people are very nice down there and I feel so bad for them because of the violence. I hope things change one day, because I really miss it. Anyway, the gato tacos or whatever they make them out of are just fine to me, I'm usually drunk as hell anyways and don't give a crap when I'm drunk and hungry. Besides, I'll just throw it back up anyway, so it all works out well. You gan get 10 Corona beers for $5.00, so I used to throw a $20 on the bar and while away the hours of the day in a dive cantina, and drift off during the evening back across the border stopping only long enough to cross the checkpoint to throw up and have them run me off. Ahhh, memories... :)
Holy crip I'm a crapple!!!
