I hope I'm posting this correctly! My two children and I were involved in a car accident in April of 2002. Unfortunately, I suffered a complete C4/C5 SCI, but my two children were not seriously injured and are very healthy today.... Now back to the topic! Every other week or so, the future pops into my mind. My biggest fear is not death, but being forgotten especially when it comes to my kids and their future. How do I get this out of my mind?? I'm very healthy, I work full-time, and I'm very busy running to games and various events that we are all involved in. Any suggestions or does anyone else have these feelings?
Thank you,
Jayne

Hi Jayne.
Sounds like you're having a bit of a paranoid moment. I'm sure your kids love you (I hope!), and will never forget you. Don't forget that you can always call on your local social worker, or hospital, or spinal unit for support if you feel you need it. You sound pretty independent, maybe you don't like the idea of asking for help.
If the worst comes to the worst, you always have us!

Hi - I sometimes thought the same thoughts after divorce before my accident and then after my accident. But the most important thing I've realised is children need and want a mum. You're there , if you weren't it would leave a huge gap in their lives forever. You obviously love them and do lots for them, sure, you'll all have your ups and downs, but just carry on being their mum.
Hope this helps a bit.
