I stretch pretty regularly to keep myself limber in joints etc. but I have an issue with my ankles that I hope you guys can let me know if it's worth worrying about ??
I sleep on my back with my nothing holding my feet up as my bed doesn't support a bolster or anything. Given that I'm in bed for around 10 hours, is this going to do harm in the long term to that joint by lengthening the tendon on my shin and shortening my Achilles and having my foot point down rather than flat ?
I'm in my chair obviously for 12+ hrs a day with my feet on the footplate stretching the opposite way although not as strong.
I try and move my ankles by hand when I'm in bed or on the lounge but I was told short stretching won't really do much.......
Don't really want to do anything to the bed.
I've just thought of raising my footplate to give them a better stretch thru the day, sound logical ??
Is this even worth the worry ?? I've been in the chair for 3.5 years.
Also, i think one of my legs have shortened......is that possible, or more to do with posture ? I look and feel symmetrical but maybe I'm not ??????

I would have thought that the position of your feet during the day would tend to counteract the foot drop at night. As for symmetry, not many people are.

Symmetry- something irregular is happening with the hips and/or lower back. I have one side shrunk up and twisted in the lower back along with a twisted hip and it has been 2 years of WORK to correct it somewhat, and I am incomplete and can stand and stretch.
Is it impossible to hang your feet over the end of the bed? That is what my husband does.
