I think it'd be nice for others who don't think a truck/suv is feasible to see how many options they really have when it comes to vehicles like that. Nothing lays your questions to rest like seeing the solution first hand.

I was waiting for you to comment on this! Im slowly learning how (more like gaining the muscle)to get into my dads F150 4x4. I sold my F150 just because it was old and definatly not worth the money to put handcontrols in. Right now though (being that most of my friends drive trucks, most lifted) my goal is to stay light weight so I can just get piggy backed into them until I have the arm muscles (: Ive also been on the market for a new mud truck (: But any videos are helpful, everyone does things differently

Totally agree, there are so many different setups that are virtually unknown. I had to search extensively for options and found very little, much less up to date. And that was just last year. I have a therapist friend who wanted to do a youtube vid on my set up, yall are motivating me to follow up.

I was at a conference down in Osage Beach this past July, and they were showing me that. I asked the sales rep when they'd be availible for Ram and Super Duty and he said they are working on it, and as of that time, were willing to modify them on special order. Someone there was also showing me the Bruno Stowaway, a very compact elevating seat that is bolted up against the outside egde of the truck frame. It looks like a good option for off-roading because it doesn't hang down any farther than some of the cross-members.
I love this thing here, but it really screws with the ground clearance....

A guy who I guess is a low level para was jumping into a Range Rover near me the other day.
Videos do help give new injuries an idea. As people say we all do it so differently!!

I seen a feller gwt in the same truck as me wif them chain driven seats what comes doen to get ya...then a crane puts his chair in the back....took a looong time.
I just toss a leg in the cab grab the seat and push from my wheel.....ya see I ain't got this mountain of available time.
If ya taped me and put it on the computer alls you'd see is a blur of hair flyin' around as i get in and hair hangin' outa the cab as i take the chair apart.

I'd like to have that option, to save on equipment costs, but can't sacrifice any interior room for a wheelchair. So, slow it is, lol. I take it having a lift kit for 32" tires is more for appearances as opposed to being needed? I can't imagine you need extra clearance with tires that size, just curious, a friend is pitting them under her Durango....

I lifted it fer turnin' clearence plus they be wide and i dig quite a bit....they's mudd tires....but I done that before i busted my back. It's also an extended cab so the chair don't ride shotgun.
When my shoulders blow out I'm sure I be lookin' fer a nice slow pick me up deal and just plan ahead fer the xtra time it takes.

Mine's a 4 door, chair still has to go in the bed.
I can see, with big ol' knarly mudtires, that they could rub in sharp corners....

Befroe this truck I drove a 2002 F150 Harley davidson edition.
Im thinking of buying a 2011 or 12 F150 Ecoboost for the gas mileage while towing my boat. I really want to raise it but I wonder how much more difficult that would be to get in and out of.
