My back got a bit sore after sitting in the same position for a while and my arm kept twitching but maybe this is normal when getting a tattoo?
Next I'm planning getting one on my leg and after speaking to the docs they don't see any problems with it so long as the tattooist is happy to stop and give me a break when needed!

However, the tattooist here dug in deep! & the man in Thailand was a proper pro n hardly touched my skin with the needle so that wouldmake a massive difference.
Stick with & post some pic's bruv.

Tatt away & just treat it the same way you would before your SCI! I was a tattoo apprentice when I got in my accident, so for anybody on here that tells you to drink before hand "DON'T DO IT"! All the alcohol does is thin your blood down a ton, so when the tattoo artist is trying to put ink into your skin your body is naturally going to bleed more which won't allow the ink to stick! If your tattoo artist is worth a damn they won't tattoo you if you've had a single drop to drink! As far as your body twitching or spasming in the area of the tattoo, that's completely normal & a tattoo artist is use to it! You can only relax your muscle so much, but when you have needles going in & out of your body it reacts as an irritant or a slight trauma to the area, so your body is naturally going to react by spasming a bit! Ask for as many breaks as you need, trust me if they are a good tattooist they don't mind especially on a big piece! They make their money by the nice work they put on everybody & rely on the satisfaction of their customers! Have a blast & I'd love to see some pictures of the final piece when it's finished!!!
