Ankles
ROM.....trace the alphabet with your big toe. While seated toe up/toe down to flex calves. I also do calf raises on stairs holding on to the railings.

Quadriceps....hold on to furniture or a secure bar and do squats. Concentrate on form. Lining toes up with knees...bring knees toward each other as you lower.

Hips....lie flat and have someone raise your straightened leg as you resist. If no one is around do seated head to knees leg stretches.

Stretching and balance are very important.

Has your therapist given you a routine?

Tai Chi is beneficial I have heard.

I have worked with Wii balance games...it does help...plus the laughter helps too.

I walk with a cane. Some days are chair days based on what silly thing I've done the day before etc...

Just keep moving

When I was actually putting some mileage on my legs I used to use the AFOs on left and right....but then I started having trouble with left knee buckling because my legs would go numb....so then I went to separate K & AFO on the left....then the right leg though it too would go numb.....so then it joined in the "fun". BUT....they never seemed to get the molding RIGHT so the damn things constantly rubbed raw spots on my ankles. Eventually I decided that I'd be better off dealing with the wobbly joints (I have since sprained knees & ankles more times than I can count) + I went back to primarily getting around w/c. But in MY case %85 of the cord itself is still intact(I've got secondary peripheral nerve damage), which is how/why I got such a good outcome with regards to walking.....though it still took about 18mo or better of working my ass off.....85% intact cord or not had I sat on my laurels during PT I'm sure things could have been much different(in a bad way of course).
