Hey I was wondering does anybody here ride automatic 4x4 quads? My level is t12 incomplete it's been a year and was thinking of getting one.. My second questions was if anyone also ever ride jet ski and is it easy if you can't stand yet?

Haven't tried a 4-wheeler yet, but have ridden a pwc several times with out any accidents. My dad has a Honda turbo-charged somethin' or other, runs in excess of 65 mph, but as long as I don't turn real sharp or get big air on it, no problems.... Only thing to note was, the first time I rode it I went wide open, the force made it extremely difficult to stay upright and I couldn't get my hand off the throttle....

Was it easy to get on and off it? Or did someone just pick you up and put you on it?

It's too unstable in the water for me to get on one unassisted. Unless they are on one of those little dry docks, then I still want a standby, but can manage with out being lifted....

I've never taken it over 45mph intentionally, and don't ride until after most of the boat traffic has died down, but just like the 4 wheelers and motorcycles, you can't beat the wind in your face. I used to do all that stuff before I was injured, and am lucky to have family that is into that kind of stuff. I am very interested in trying an atv again soon. I think it would give me a lot more options when hunting or fishing.

The Honda R12-X is the only pwc I've been on. Years ago, my cousin had Kawasaki Bayous in 185 in 300cc, they were a lot of fun in the day, lol. Anything in particular you're wanting to get ahold of?

hey, i have never done the jet ski, but i ride and actually race quads now.
iam a t-6 and its easy, so you being a little lower will make it evn better!
my injury just turned 1 year and i have been riding for aout 6 months now.
the quad i have is a kawasaki kfx450r race quad, i put a klicktronic electric shifter on it, softer seat, and some velcro straps to hold me on.
i jump and everyting, dosnt hurt and the set up works perfect!!
i wear several support belts around my waist to keep everything nice and tight.

i have also ridden my friends onda rancher 4x quad with no problems, just used a tie down strap to hold me on while we were camping as its not my quad. also works pretty good. the rancher has electronic push button shift built in so its perfect.

have you ever thought of getting a polaris rzr or yamaha rhino? i have a rzr also and its a blast!
as for getting on, my dad just picks me up and puts me on.

here is a link to my you tube page where there a couple vids of me riding link: http://www.youtube.c...rider594/videos

hope this helps, and if you ever need any tips on setting up your quad, send me an e-mail at motodmast@gmail.com
i may be paralized but iam still crazier and faster than half the people i know who ride quads or dirtbikes.
who cares what other people think!!!

I would suggest a 4 wheeler like the Polaris Scrambler.... Plenty of power, variable transmission without clutch to mess with, electric start, forward and reverse, built in foot boards that will keep your feet on and away from rear wheels... They are easy to crawl onto.... Put a foot over the seat, set the other on the foot board, reach up and grab the handle bar and pull yourself on.... Real easy once you get used to it.... been riding 3 and 4 wheelers for 30+ years as a T5 complete... Got a Polaris 4x4 for dove and quail hunting and just general riding, Polaris Scrambler for cruising/sport.

Really would strongly caution you about doing what the previous poster suggested..... It may work out perfectly for him, but I've seen many paras end up as quads or worse... You only gotta roll it once because you aren't gonna be able to get off like you used to in an emergency.... You also should never strap yourself on, either your feet or waist.... You'll be crushed in a rollover with no chance to get off....

PWCs are a blast.... you can actually push these to the limit and past, throw yourself off, and not get hurt.... Many of the newer ones are easy to get on by yourself but you may have to test ride to see if it works or not.... From the water I crawl on from the side by pulling myself onto the seat on my stomach, roll and sit up, put my leg over and go... From the dock just put your leg on the seat, reach the handle bar, and pull yourself over.... you dont need reverse but it makes certain maneuvers easier.

Good luck.

I've got an older model 4x4 Magnum 425 for hunting. Bought it in '96 and still runs great. Put backrest on it to support me when shooting and gun rack on front. Its otherwise stock. It is very similar to some of the Sportsman 4x4 models now made in size and how it operates. Got a 2wd Trail Blazer (not Scrambler) 250 for sport riding. The new Trail Blazer 330 is the best bang for your buck out there. Relatively cheap but pretty sporty. Thinking about upgrading to Scrambler 500 4x4.

My brother has a Trail Blazer and also a RZR. They are expensive but a blast to drive and worth it. I use portable handle controls, Z4, with slight modification. Works great. Easy to get in and out of by yourself.

Good luck.

Drove a friends turbo-charged jet ski (sit down type obviously) at 82mph on a nice calm lake, and had no problems. My mate who's T6 incomplete rides a jet ski in the waves and chop, he gets some decent air and has no problems either. Falling off a jet ski could be less painful, but quads look ace. Get both!!

ya, i know 5-6 paras who ride quads and snowmobiles... were actually getting together to race on a team soon..
dont let anything stop you man, you can still do just about anything, sometimes its just a little different :)
they make neck braces that are very nice if your worried about you neck.
or if u dont want the quad or jet ski
get a boat or rzr, i have both and there fun! but riding my quad is the best!
youll be safe in eather one...

I have a polaris hawkeye 300 and its the best thing iv purchased post accident, built a surfboard rack on the front so we just strap the boards on n head up the beach. Its good 2 cause im the only 1 that is allowed 2 do it! I can transfer onto it myself and im C7 incomplete so you will figure out a way
Also ride my mates jetskis, not real confident in the waves but we have a crack, its epic on the lake letting it go full throttle!
good luck yeeew

Seein' as I fear water, I'd dive on a Honda Foreman 500 ES....Helluva ride, easy transfer (pull yerself up, let yerself down) lots a power, I bought a new one 2008 (hell now they gots power steerin').

I never tie myself on, no need, it's a learnin' curve to stay centered on a steep side hill goin' fast, but ya get the hang of it in no time.
