I just recently had spinal fusion t2-l4 in October. I didn't have much pain even when I was doing rehab. Then about 2 weeks ago I get massive pain in my shoulder and back right where the curve my spine is at. This happens when I turn my head to the left, use my arm to push my chair, or even lie down in bed. The worse is when I try to get my pants up. Sometimes the pain is just there when I am sitting in my chair. I hoping its not serious looking for thoughts.

In the past I've experienced a similar (I think) pain. Horrible dull pain that feels like it is under the shoulder blade? If it does you may have popped a rib. See a chiropractor.

hmm ok it feels more like of a tearing pain, sometimes if I lie down in bed it goes up and down my whole back. Its worse between t4-t7 right where my syrinx and curve is at.

I get the same pain myself from time to time. I got a muscle relaxer from my doctor and it eases the pain for a few hours. Found hooking a tens unit up to it every other day helps dull the pain also. May want to ask your doctor first before trying tho.

Usually an x-ray doesn't detect much of anything. If yours comes back negative, ask your doctor for an MRI of that syrinx and take it to a neurologist for observation.

Yep as Qbounce said, if it's muscular an xray won't show much at all, definitely ask for an MRI.

Yep, I have that tear feeling in my left shoulder blade area. It happened after I got home from a back surgery in 2004. They had put rods in. I feel like at least a few times a month I'll be just doing regular activity and it tears. I've talked to my surgeon about it, but I don't care about it anymore, lol.

Can I vote Q's post up like 2x? :specool:

I'm 100% with Q on this....MRI! It's the ONLY way to see if there is any soft tissue problems (maybe like 5% or less would be a BONE problem....like bone spurs or something).
