Hey guys,
Hoping someone can help me here. I'm trying to find out what experiences people have had with getting a spouse Visa for Australia with SCI. It seems there are strict criteria about not being a 'burden' on health care provision. Any tips or experiences, positive or negative?

I'm actually in the process myself. I'm getting married to my fiance in March when we move back to Perth. He's Australian and I'm Canadian. From everything we've looked at there's no problems with my receiving Medicare once we get married and I become a permanent resident. Citizenship will still take a few years but that's not the biggest issue. I know if your spouse or yourself are American it is a bit more complicated but I don't know the details. I'll let you know if I come across anything new!

Hi Tim
I think it depends on what sort of Visa you are after, visitors, working or permanent resident. The easiest way is to be born here. My AB daughter had a hell of a time getting a work visa for the UK so we should make it hard for you guys. lol lol
Let's know if I can help.

If you are going there as a visitor there is no requirement, that I know of, to state your disability.
They just require you to have sufficient travel insurance.
I have travelled to Australia on three separate occasions in a wheelchair, and on none of those trips
have I been asked about my disability (other than by the airline).
