This isn't the best video, I need to do a better one but you get the idea. Appreciate all ideas and suggestions. This exercise does work my quadriceps right? I have a really tight right leg (ham string), will doing this make it tighter or loser? It's difficult to do the leg presses without pushing my back into the chair, but my legs are doing the majority of the work. Wondering if putting my feet on a footstool would make a difference? Any other exercise ideas I can do from this chair? I really want to find effective core and leg exercises. Thank you for all help.

Ian

Impressive!

Looks to me as though your working your quadriceps. How much of them I can't tell. Keep doing that as much as you can! I sure would if my quads worked.

ty for the encouragement. The quadriceps would be the front thigh muscles that could technically power me from sitting to stand right? I took a little break from exercising and trying to get motivated. Hope you push yourself too, whether a little or a lot it''s worth it.

That's right. Their the front of your thighs, above the knees. They're called quadriceps because they're four different muscles working together. That's the leg muscles that you use to straighten your leg from a bent position, or to stand up from the sitting position.

Keep up the Good work!

speaking of straightening from the knee or standing up, i know it's the same muscles but both exercises seem to bring different results. i can straighten from the knee - 4 sets x 50 at least, but seems to do nothing for me going from sit to stand, seems that takes a lot to trigger the beginning strength needed. But I hope to keep doing the eg presses from the chair and hopefully will get to unassisted or less assisted sit to stand.
