i'm just putting a post out because i'm bummed big time. i'm having symptons of yet another uti and when i called about bringing in a sample the nurse called me back and said the dr wanted me to have another port put in and for me to start another iv medicine.
i was really hoping i had found the cause of my uti's. i thought it was my husband's sperm. well he's been careful so now i have to figure out why i keep getting sick.
damn damn damn. that's my rant and vent. thanks.

hi fellow gimps! i'm a c 6/7 quad and have been injured since 1986. i was in a roll over hydroplane accident and it took hours for the paramedics to get me out of the car in the pouring rain. that definately wasn't my day. but alas life goes on!

I'm Sorry to hear Mellow,
Please Rant Rant Rant if it helps you feel any better. That's why we're here. To support you anyway possible!
I'm just getting over a Bad UTI myself, but I can't Rant. It's my first since the late 90s that needed antibiotics.

Mellow
I'm sorry to hear about your news too. You have every right to vent and feel free to do so anytime! I think uti's are one of the worst things we have to fight on a constant basis having an sci. As if it isn't bad enough just having the sci. Take good care.

I know how you feel mellow, I had pretty much constant UTI's for over 6mths ranging in symptons from just a bit of headache, to being carted off in a ambulance with high temps, shakes and high blood pressure. I have since had an SPC put in, and even though I have had a few since, they were very minor. Not that I'm saying you need an SPC, I was and still am a "special" case when it comes to bowel and bladder. Hope you're better soon.

I know THIS may sound odd but at least consider it. Sometimes, when your pants are too tight or made from a stiff material, it can irritate things causing an UTI. Wearing panties with a white crotch lining may help also. There is a brand of panties called Breezies (sold on QVC) that has an antibacteria lining in the crotch which wicks away moisture.
Maybe start keeping a journal of what you wear ....may help eliminate the UTIs. Maybe even wear skirts for awhile since they don't have all that material bunched up around the lady bits.
I know this isn't a cure but may help to prevent them in the future.
